| Douglas K. Fifner gave a speech January 12, 2001 to a
group of orthopedic residents throughout Ohio via videotape. The topic was risk
management and charting for residents. Douglas K. Fifner and Tim Whitford gave a speech to the long term care industry on January 31, 2001 in Cleveland, Ohio. These speeches were attended by Nursing Home Administrators, Owners and Directors of Nursing. Topics included risk management and procurement of liability insurance. LTC's approach to risk management is a combination of focused program content, education, delivery methods and proven quality control expertise. Douglas K. Fifner will be giving a speech on risk management to the nursing staff at Doctors Hospital in Massillon, OH on May 10, 2001. Topics include elements of nursing negligence, standards of nursing practice, negligence specific to nursing practice and the role of the nurse in preventing nursing negligence. Douglas K. Fifner will be giving a speech at the Ohio Podiatric Medical Association 85th Annual Meeting on May 17th in Columbus, Ohio. The topic will be "Anatomy of a Lawsuit" Douglas K. Fifner will be giving a speech on Thursday August 16, 2001 in Beachwood for Professional Education Systems, Inc on "Trial of a Nursing Home Negligence Case: Defendant's Perspective" The same speech will be given in Columbus on Friday August 17, 2001. This will be given to everyone in the hospital on the issue of confidentiality in the hospital setting. On January 23, 2003 Douglas K. Fifner was named Businessman of the Year by the Business Advisory Council of the Republican Congressional Committee Douglas K. Fifner will be giving a speech on March 19, 2003 in Cleveland, OH for LTC RPG / Provider Alliance on the topic of nursing home law and current trends in the industry. |
