received his Juris Doctor degree from the Cleveland Marshall College of Law in 1979 and
earned an undergraduate degree in English Literature, cum laude, from The University of
the South. His interest in law began with his admiration for his father, William R.
Fifner, who practiced law in the Cleveland area for many years. Mr. Fifner worked his way
through law school working as a pari-mutuel clerk at two local horse race tracks. After
graduation from law school, Mr. Fifner was hired as a full-time attorney at Reminger &
Reminger Co., L.P.A. in Cleveland and began his practice as one of the members of the
firms 60 plus attorneys. By 1985, Mr. Fifner was made a partner of the firm.
Early in his career, Mr. Fifner was primarily involved in the investigation and defense
of accident claims against trucking companies, which provided an invaluable lesson in the
importance of early and appropriate investigation to the outcome of any litigation. He
soon switched his focus to the defense of physicians, hospitals, nursing homes and product
manufacturers and spent the majority of his practice honing his skills in these fields of
law.
In 1995, Mr. Fifner established his own law firm. He was joined by his wife, Elaine,
who is also an accomplished defense litigation attorney. In 1998, Dale Kwarciany, noted
for nearly 20 years of experience and accomplishments in the areas of personal injury and
medical negligence, joined the firm.
Mr. Fifner has been recognized by Marquis Whos Who in American Law (7th Edition,
1992-1993), by Strathmores Whos Who for 1998-1999 by the National Registry of
Whos Who (1999) and by Who's Who in Executives and Business for 2001-2002. He has
lectured to both physicians, nurses and Long Term Care Owners and Administrators on
issues involving risk management and trends in Ohio law. He is a member of the Defense
Research Institute, the Ohio and Cleveland Bar Associations and the Cleveland Academy of
Civil Trial Attorneys. |
